I would say Draconian Blood has something to do with the height difference between him and Cutabelle.
Does that have anything to do with Spike almost always being drawn bigger than his actual size? That’s something I keep noticing in a lot of Sparity pictures; Spike is usually huge when he should be quite a bit smaller than the ponies around him.

To tell the truth, scientists really aren’t sure about what dinosaurs actually had.
All I know is that even in species that have cloacas, the males tend not to use them for breeding purposes simply because the other mechanism is much more efficient.
And by “common dragon lore” you mean D&D and the things that copied their dragons from it.
Did dinosaurs have scales? That’s not a rhetorical question, btw. I’m legitimately curious.
Squamates, they have scales. Plus common dragon lore says they can breed with anything.
I ship all sorts of characters that I wouldn’t otherwise when they’re anthro, humanized or even a different style. Spike and Rarity are probably the best example.
Not as weird as me preferring to ship them more when Sweetie Belle’s a robot.
