The spikes on the poles are a bit much. If anything, they offer handholds. Or even hoof holds; just wedge ’em in above where the spike meets the main column.

I’d say the weights were a nice touch. Daring’s first instinct was to free her legs, which just increased the danger by making her too heavy to fly.
