I think it’s a mix up, most have Brian Drummond listed as Knuk but both are in listed in the credits, most if not all episodes that is.

Odd, some sources say he voiced him in “Sonic Underground,” but the Wiki page says Brian Drummond (not to be confused with Ryan from SA) voiced that version of Knux.

Knuckles was voiced in the DiC cartoon by Brian Drummond, the father of Brynna Drummond who voiced Babs Seed.

Y’know, before voicing Megaman in the Ruby Spears ’90s series, Ian James Corlett previously voiced Dr. Wiley in “Captain N: The Game Master” cartoon ironically. He was also Coconuts & Knuckles in the DiC Sonic cartoons.

Yeah,sometimes parents actors/actresses put their children through the same thing.
 
But it’s also common for these type of kids to follow their parents footsteps on their own accord.Probably mainly because the have been exposed to what their parents do and become interested in it.
 
Take Nicole Oliver’s older son,for example.He just came out and said to her he wanted to do acting and she was all “oh,noes…really? do you realize what this implies,right? you have to enjoy your childhood why don’t y- ok,you know what? go for it,my father supported me,why shouldn’t I do the same with you? (but I’ll try my best to give you a normal upbringing”
