I don’t see how it would be much of a problem to give Dinky an older sister and Ditzy{Derpy} another daughter. Should be simple really and would be an interesting dynamic.
Well, Derpy being Dinky’s mom was ingrained long before the show established Sparkler and Dinky as sisters. Nothing against Sparkler, but headcanons of Derpy and her li’l muffin won’t always expand so easily. (Especially if it’s Derpy and her li’l muffin versus a world that doesn’t think much of ponies with whatever condition Derpy’s eye thing indicates in the fic/art at hand.)
It’s not the first time, but she’s often just left out and forgotten. Happens in both art and fics.
