I hate when that happens, especially because of something stupid like the author signing up for something that will keep them away from technology; like doing volunteer work in a country where most of the problems were caused by previous volunteers, or joining the army (Hugh Lofting published Dr Dolittle by sending each chapter as a letter while he was in the army, there’s no excuse), or because they’re taking part in some group thing that doesn’t let you bring computers even though it’s in a country with internet and they could just slip off to write in a library or something

As a fic author, I kind of have the opposite problem: I’m too demanding of myself. I feel guilty if I don’t post a story update on the same day every week.

If I ever actually cancelled a story I think I’d never forgive myself. I should probably take this less seriously..

I know doesn’t it just suck that others have life to deal with?

I follow soo many artist, there’s few I’d notice stopped posting things unless it’s been a while. It’s hard to pick favorites.

Honestly, I’d rather they come out and say “Yeah, I’m not going to be able to work on this for a while” or “Yeah, I’m going to have to cancel this story” than have them just disappear and never update again without saying anything.
