Yes, and it’s clear where her priorities lie. I can’t blame her though. When the whole concept is dumb (you know, HUMANS!), it’s hard to build anything decent from that starting point. I would have done the same damn thing if I was in her place! Sadly though it means we’ll have another chapter in the book called “What could have been good in My Little Pony” that no-one wants.
 
I know it’s tacky to suggest ways to do things differently after the fact. But I’ll do that anyway now!  
If I had the reigns of the show, I would have taken that first ~10 minutes of season 4 episode 2 and made that into a whole movie instead.
 
So much unfiltered raw potential there, not only from lore expanding perspective, but also from story-telling perspective. A story where Twilight “travels” back in time to witness the events of Luna’s and Celestia’s relationship and the eventual Luna’s corruption and Nightmare Moon’s banishment. Or heck, just a straight up film telling the events of that time without the whole “modern day” Twilight influence. It would have even been a standalone animated movie where the viewer would not really need any previous knowledge of the show, aside the same basic info we got at the beginning of the first season setting the background. Something general movie going audience unfamiliar with MLP could easily come to. And Bronies get awesome lore expansion. Win/win.

There was only so much you can do with a movie based on High school drama. And EqG was ordered by Hasbro just so they could make Monster High type dolls.

Well I suppose a small rectification is in order here. Since watching the season 4 two parter opening. I have to admit. I was wrong, so wrong with my fears. That episode was absolutely wonderful. Credit where credit is due. I will gladly admit that my fears were wrong… Well of course there’s still the rest of the season to have things go topsy-turvy, but from the intro I hold high hopes.
 
However, my sentiments about season 3 and EqG still stand (Altrough there were few decent episodes in S3. Magic Duel, Sombra, Scootaloo). If anything I’m baffled about the fact that Megan McCarthy Wrote all these brilliant episodes, including season 4 intro. She really does have the talent, no doubt. But then why was EqG so awfully bland and uninterestingly written? It is beyond me.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m excited and looking forward to Season 4. Because Ponies. Oh, and let the record show that I did not hate Season 3.*
 
Now, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t rather concerned. I had a somewhat negative reaction to The Twilicorn - not nearly as bad as the complete meltdowns had by others - and in the nine months since, I have not warmed up to her at all (if anything, Twi’s star has fallen in my eyes). The release of MLP:IDW#13 two days ago did nothing to raise my opinion. What’s that mean? It means that I’m hoping S4 will still be good, but will not be shocked if it isn’t.

I can relate. Considering the recent developments (EqG and season 3 ending), I really can’t say that I’m anywhere near excited as I was waiting for S2/S3.
 
Nervous filled dread would better describe my feelings for S4.
 
I feel like going to a morgue to identify the brutal murder victim. Whether like it or not, I have to see it. It is inevitable affair that needs to be attended to. And it probably will end up being that something I used to love lying there dead and horrifically mutilated, but there’s still the lingering hope its a case of mistaken identity or it’s not dead after and the coroner was mistaken…
