Description
An Image I made using Skipsy’s great image as a base. I may shade it later and cleanup the lines a bit and upload that one, but I dont see myself having the time for that for awhile.
Im doing these traces because making an image from scratch right now takes way too much effort. Doing these edits gets me better at using photoshop and understanding more about the images. Hell most of this image was just using the image as a basic guide, I think the head, the fleshy bit of the tail, and the bed are the only things that are directly traced. Everything else was made looking at the image and making it the way I wanted it. Albeit thats just making the ass bigger, giving her new hair and tail, and adding tits right now, but this is making me better at using photoshop. So doing these edits will let me make better images and I’ll keep doing them because Im not great with photoshop. And until I get a drawing tablet making images from scratch is a very tedious process. Its not that I dont want to make my own images, its that I dont understand enough about ponies to do the quality of image that I want to produce. So I’m doing these as practice.
Buuuut then we get into the whole discussion of “is it really art if all you did use the bucket tool a few times”.
I don’t know, it’s obvious that this artist put work into tracing the image instead of just recoloring it directly, but the whole notion of using someone else’s image as a template implies laziness and non-professionalism.
Whatever. I’m not a critic, what do I care. I’ll just blacklist the artist and move on.
as long as one doesn’t claim to be the sole artist to an edit(IE, if asked if you drew that, you’d say ‘no, its just an edit’), I find edits to be an art themselves.
