@Tenafly Viper
i feel like the only person who always pronounced it jif (besides kevin spacey)
Even the guy who created the gif format said it’s supposed to be pronounced like “jif”. HOWEVER, considering that it’s short for “graphics interchange format”, and “graphics” starts with a hard “g” sound, the “jif” pronunciation doesn’t make any sense.
Which is why people will continue to say “gif”, not “jif”.

When I first saw the word, I thought it was spoken ‘me-me’. When I actually heard the word spoken, I was like, ‘Huh. So… it’s said like that. That’s kinda stupid. I prefer my way.”
Now I’m just used to it being ‘meem’. (shrug)
Before I knew how it was supposed to be pronounced, I had assumed it was spoken as “mem”.
Stupid French background…

You see this channel? You see the blue episodes? Watch all of those episodes for each of the series except Hotline Miami. Trust me, it’s not worth it.
now i’m even more confused

I’ve heard people pronounce it like ten different ways. I’ve heard may-may, me-me, one guy pronounced it “may-me”. I could correct them, but how much of an asshole internet snob would I look like?
Ross is a star of Steam Train, a webshow in which he and Danny Sexbang play video games. He’s normally the scapegoat of the two, and normally, his silly antics get a very simple phrase: Goddamnit Ross!
