As I said in my first post, this applies to a lot of indie game development projects. It also applies to some big-name development products (cough Bethesda cough), and quite a lot of open source development projects. Honestly, though, it seems mostly indie development where the problem lies. The percentage of people in those that don’t understand version numbering is just absurd.
But open source development IS SO GREAT AND HAS NO DOWNSIDES MANG
“Was to be” and “was” don’t always match up, though; some Big Rigs racing game comes to mind for one. Maybe there are more examples than that, if that one even counts. Eh, if I’m wrong I’m wrong, ignore me and move on for I’m not particularly bright and I do apologize if I’m painfully off. :P
Far too many examples to list.
Odd, because I was taught that anything not ready for primetime was to be version 0.X
