Spike: (ponders for while), Nah.
Those fuckers have no rights.
I don’t know.
I just saw the preview pages. I think it comes out tomorrow, so I’m just going to check my comic shop for it.
Is the comic out anywhere? I would assume they’d release things at midnight, but I guess not.
Well, the Futurama Comic had the radioactive Sea Monkeys growing massive and destroying New New York.
So that’s why I say that now it looks like it’s different. It’s just those opening pages reminded me of that issue.
@Fortune
Really, the concept is right up there with Fantastic Voyage homages. It just has so many variations that few people notice.

I didn’t think about the South Park episode. The resemblance to the Futurama Comic was what was most apparent to me. It’s also been almost a decade since I last saw that episode.
I.M. Weasel did that too.
@unknownguy777
It was an episode of South Park that was self-aware in taking the idea from The Simpsons, which took the idea from The Twilight Zone.
I never read the futurama comics but, wasn’t that an episode of south park?
From the initial preview pages it really seemed like it to me.
Fry/Spike buys sea monkeys off the back of a comic. Sea monkeys turn out to be a dud. Fry/Spike add radioactive waste/magic grown serum that increases size.
But beyond that, this looks to be different. I was still going to buy my copy anyway, this was just something I noticed.
The slavery of their bodies is a small price to pay for the salvation of their once heathen souls.
Nah, donkeys are cool. It’s those ugly half-breed mules you have to watch for.
Oh, and Celestia’s in for quite a rude awakening if the Equestrian Enlightenment is a thing.
