As a socially maladjusted loner myself - the kind of person this series is pandering to - no, it doesn’t. I don’t want to be popular and I despise how mainstream “culture” passes off attractiveness and how it glorifies promiscuity and extroversion. Tomoko is basically just your average philistine normie; the only difference is that she’s a social failure.
I’d say it hits the nail on the head, it hurts.
It’s about a socially awkward loner who hates the kids at her high school for being vapid and shallow even though she is just as vapid and shallow as they are.
It’s a desperate attempt to appeal to social rejects which somehow still fails miserably at representing them.
It’s a cringe comedy anime, about an extremely shy and socially awkward girl trying her hardest to be popular. And it’s better than I make it sound.
It’s on Crunchyroll if you wanna watch it, I’d definitely recommend it.

She’s nothing but a vapid, shallow cunt that would slut it up the moment she had the chance. She is a pathetic character with no redeeming qualities whatsoever and anyone that identifies with her is no better.
The depraved bit only makes me want to hug her more.
Also because of various reasons beyond my comprehension.
She’s a bit full of herself and somewhat depraved, but you can’t help but want to hug her and make her feel better.
