@Background Pony Now this I wouldn’t mind them showing up again for. I used to love that shit in older comics, especially like MAD and Maakies and the like.  
Turning EqG into a recurring ‘outer line’ or fourth-walling joke thing would be a fine way to ‘dispose’ of it from ever possibly interfering with the main line  
(say, Pinkie trying to bring a bucket out of a well, EqG Pinkie and Applejack talking about how much easier that’d be with hands, Fluttershy pipes up “But I thought she had hands once?” or Rainbow chasing a parasprite across the tops of a few panels, when it suddenly hops into the background of the main comic in the next to last panel and she goes “Aw nuts, I’ll never get it out of there now!” as she skids to a halt past it on the last panel)  
Seeeergio, wherefor art thou, Sergio? Would you like to pone as the other Sergio poned?

There’s a hint of powerpuff/galaxy girls there for sure.

They look like shortened characters you’d expect to see at the bottoms of magazine pages cracking puns or advertising stuff.

It would have been better in any other style.  
Okay maybe not Phinneas. Triangular Derpy would just be pure weird.

Anyone else think EqG would’ve been better in this style?
