aw jeez
Plus the upgrade allowed for destructible environments and larger maps.
It’s a good thing it came out pre-2001 though, the American stage is New York XD
Oh. The graphics made me think ps1
Amusingly, real asia gets represented by Thailand instead of the usual suspects. Their ‘plane’ is actually a helicopter with Airwolf-style jet rockets for making loops and dives.
this game looks cool, what is it
You don’t like communism, but you would prefer to live in a world where the Soviet Union has yet to dissolve, and what does that have to do with the Civil Rights Movement?
Impossibly so. I’ve never been much of a fan of communists, and that was chock full of them top to bottom. The only one involved that has my respect is Malcolm.
You think the world was better before the Civil Rights Movement?
How many people do you know that have polio? Denying vaccines and antibiotics to people who need them is terrible, but it’s pretty amazing that those things exist at all.
Capitalism turns economics into sport, and that’s great because competition forces us to be better. The trouble with sport is that if there are no rules in place to keep everyone playing fair or those rules aren’t being enforced, then the person who wins isn’t necessarily the best man, but the man who is most unscrupulous. American capitalism might not be perfect, but it’s a lot better than it used to be.
The world isn’t perfect, and it’s important to recognize that because if you don’t see the problems, you can’t fix them, but if you focus on what’s wrong with the world, you lose sight of what’s good about it. For all the problems in the world, there isn’t another era in human history I’d rather live in.
Just because it changed from conventional to ideological warfare doesn’t make it any less peaceful/lethal. Modern ways of killing include such things as denying essential medical treatment and ‘rezoning’ around a hostile populous. Granted, in soviet blocs they do that a lot less subtly/more lethally than in America, but it still happens. For instance, if a congressman carries a younger demographic, he might re-zone so that he faces an older crowd in the run up, but as they die off due to medicare cuts or a lack of reliable hospice care, his opponent loses votes completely. Or a hospital which ‘delivers treatments improperly’ may forfeit some essential funding (for instance said hospital finds a natural remedy working better than a $125,000 machine) The modern capitalist machine utilises the disruption of resources and funding to disrupt or deny opponents their voices.
Organisations filled with paycheck-stubbing scabs who are too overworked to care about ethical matters are also usually those utilised to disrupt the lives of the ‘disagreeable.’ Social Services winds up used for this a lot, and has a massive stain on account of it (not to mention that kind of frivolous usage also results in them ignoring a real case of abuse)
No, I daresay the modern age has failed to inspire me horrendously, given the technology, knowledge, and industrial might at its disposal. It’s about as bleak as Gibson and Huxley predicted, just for the most part, shinier and cleaner on the streets, and with a lot more bread&circus acts. I find myself at a loss to comprehend most of what has been done since the end of the 70s, really, all governments are now involved in a slowly self-destructive tailspin that they are either too proud or too ignorant to pull themselves away from.
@Evowizard25 grorious mother russia laughs at your silly forcefields.
Forcefields defeat your precious guns.
For anyone who doesn’t think this is the most peaceful era in human history, this link might provide some perspective.

Look up Med-evil methods of torture and tell me what you think of their ethics. An Education used to be something that was only available to a select few, as oppose to something that the government is obligated to provide for it’s citizens. If you don’t think we have good, you need some perspective.
This is why I never use one for a fight to the death.
Not to hurt someone, that’s another matter.
Uncivil, but effective.
Guns?
Sometimes I have to wonder if a world where something like say the Borg/ Cybermen, whatever, something that forced all into an emotionless hivemind, did actually exist and won, might not be a better one. Probably not.
just shoots you
Primitive swords.
Peace? Ha! As long as two people hate each other, there’ll never be peace.
On that note pulls out a changeling keyblade and gets into a combat position On guard, my princess.
@jpony
Seems about as waring as any other time if you ask me.
I don’t know if this is the most peaceful era in human history. I think some people would disagree with that.
And yet they likely had better ethics and philosophies.
‘education’ isn’t just about printed letters.
American public schools aren’t the best in the world, but we can read. That’s more than most people throughout history can say.
