Had to be Kane shooting the woman in the back and speaking for the first time “I am the future” and giving us that grin.
I think the most satisfying part of Red Alert was watching Stalin get buried alive at the end of the Allied Campaign
ohaithar Nyer. Gotta present for ya!
No, Boris is where it’s at, since his machine gun could damage tanks.
Psh. You young whippersnappers wouldn’t know a Red Alert if it shot you in the ass.
Kiss it bye-bye!
Ka-ching!
But, who needs those RA people when you got THE COMMANDO? The original commando, not that Havoc clown. Hahaha! Time to rock ‘n’ roll! That was left-handed!
…and read the tie-in novels…
But again, I don’t dislike it at all!
Oh come on, the plot in that game was awesome if you had the time to go through it.
I’m not saying it’s bad, I did enjoy it quite a bit. It did suffer from that disease of mid-90s franchises, though: Continuity Lockout.
Tiberian Sun all the way, nothing can beat that game
Likewise; I prefer believably silly compared to mad mad mad mad mad mad silly.
And yes, I realise that makes me a bit of a hypocrite since I’m also a fan of Saint’s Row IV
I understand. I was always much more into TS than RA or RA2, although I love them all.
Just a matter of taste.
Works for me.
Last time I checked, I had fingers at the end of my arms.
I’ll give you a high five if you want.
…ow, shot down.
I meant you like the same types of games. Wait, are you Maud?
Also, the usual response is (, like a hoof.
Obviously, I speak English. Also, it looks like your hand got cut off.
Brony, you’re speaking my language. /)
I’ve been going on a Total War binge right now. Finished Empire. Time for Medieval 2.
I know, right? Pretty great stuff–it’s a good combination of RTS and almost grand strategy in scope, and factoring in the actual logistics with fueling and reloading ammo made you think strategically, too.
THAT GAME IS THE SHIT!
ALB is even better!
So excited for Red Dragon.
I hear ya, but if I wanted those, I’d play…any other military simulation game set in the real world. Maybe “Wargame: European Escalation”. Or join the army, I dunno.
RA3 went past my “this is way too fucking silly” threshold when the STANDARD INFANTRY TRANSPORT for the Soviets is a damn circus attraction.
I’ll stick to flak tracks, IFVs, troop crawlers, Humvees, technicals, etc.
@ZORDON
Sorry, but I just couldn’t get into TS. IDK why but I never seemed to be enjoying myself while playing it.
@ZORDON
Oh, I loved RA2, as well. Nice design, good setting, easy to play (even if they made the enemy defenses somewhat OP).
There’s something about the goofy, over-the-top campiness of 3 that really amused me, though, and the new units are pretty badass. Also, loved Yuriko–she’s basically Lucy of Elfen Lied and Tetsuo from Akira combined.
See? This one gets it. The last thing resembling a good C&C was Generals. And even there, I wouldn’t trade it for RA2 or TS.
Although C&C3, as far as gameplay goes, is not that bad, storywise it’s just not up to par.
Red Alert IS where it’s at. But not the one you’re thinking of.
High speed, low drag.
