Point taken, this guy’s got a bit more of a rump on him than Spike is usually drawn with. The problem with baby dragon characters is that we only have one canon model to compare them to, so it’s hard to say how much “off model” an oc needs to be before it’s no longer considered just a recolor.
Yeah, he’s practically a lardass.
I admit that in some shots, his back does form the hump shown in the image, but the OC’s is bigger.
No, Spike pretty much is that fat, and mascara still makes it a recolor.
It’s not bad as recolors go, but yeah, this is Donut Steel territory.
Spike isn’t that fat, nor does he wear mascara.
He just looks so much like Spike to me.

Actually, as far as OCs go, he’s pretty original.
