He felt the magic tug at his tail, and instinctively whipped around and smacked the mare on the face. “I thought I told you, I’m not your slave! Leave me alone!” He opened his eyes and realized his mistake. It wasn’t Twilight. Worse, it was Rarity. “R-Rarity?” “I’m sorry.” She turned away. “I thought you would have liked my company.” Before Spike could react, she was gone.

She laid on her bed, crying. He never treated her like that before. He was always there to comfort her. But now that she tried to return the favor, he snapped at her. Why? Shy was pulled from her thoughts by something combing through her mane. “Spike?” “I’m sorry.” She sat up. “Twilight and I got into a fight. I needed some space from her, and when I felt your magic, I assumed it was her’s.” He reached up and wrapped his arms around her. “I probably should have looked for you first. I was just too mad to think.” “I hope you don’t mind if I stop you there, but I forgive you. If you need me to hide you from Twilight, I’d gladly do so.” They held each other, with no regard for time. “You realize how creepy that sounded, right?” “Yeah, but it’s true.”
