I just pretended that Sunset Shimmer’s sudden, 180-degree redemption at the end was the Kamen Rider Fourze reference I had been hoping for, since that sort of thing happened all the damn time on Fourze (I still think Gamou’s last-minute Heel Face Turn was bullcrap, since he had spent the last ten episode talking about how meaningless friendship was, and even dismissed Libra’s sacrifice).

Anyway, in my own case, I got into anime because it is different from western tv series; it is allowed to show a lot more bloody and grotesque imagery; storylines are more coherent thanks to clearly numbers of episodes, rather than just going on and on for as long as the network can stretch it, and they more often have a single plotline for the entire story, rather than being episodic; And lastly, I just like animation.
