It’s pretty much all he’s got to look forward to at this point.

Thankful as the Ponyvillians doubtless are over some of Spike’s actions, it stands to reason that that gratitude is somewhat tempered by him laying waste to the same village as a rampaging dragon.
Yeah, I guess. But dragons and ponies do have weird aging things, it’s just all weird.
Now, reverse that proposed situation so an adult guy is waiting for a pre-teen girl to turn legal, and you get an idea of how creepy some people find that sort of thing.
Still think that Rarity is merely playing a waiting game until she feels he’s ready.
Maybe he alienated the crystal ponies after saving them. Maybe he started eating their crystal stuff. That would’ve made a great cutaway gag in “Just for Sidekicks.”
“…since when does that matter?”
Well that’s a good point.
I guess in the end, spike is lucky since he didn’t have to worry about the zany conflict in that episode. Cadance, unintentionally saved him from one conflict, but helped cause another (spike petsitting for jewels).
Yeah, that’s why Spike didn’t get to be a straight man in season 3: it would have ended that nonsense in less then a minute.
Still don’t think he would have actually liked what the events turned out to be.
Besides, if Spike were there, he would have made them think straight and not worry about how hair was styled.
In the episode, he mentions that he wanted to greet the head of games, and felt that they thought he would be useless greeting harshwhinny.
Oh right.
Forgot about that.
The only thing we have to go on is in “Dragonshy”, where Twilight says that a Dragon’s nap typically lasts a hundred years. So I infer from that that MLP canon on the subject follows standard dragon lore.
It wasn’t the sporting event, it was the welcoming committee pitching an Olympic bid. He probably would have been bored.
(I think this was the reason why Fluttershy felt so guilty about him not being asked to attend; she knew how vital he was then)
SPIKE: Saves Ponyville from his
masterbosskeeper, multiple times; still treated like crap.Assuming dragons don’t live aslong as ponies in MLP that is. We just base that off of usual dragon lore, nothing is really set in canon.
Yup. Regardless of if you believe in “Immortality Blues” or not, someone’s gettin’ screwed.
If I.B. is a thing (ignoring Word Of God), Twilight outlives everpony, plus Spike eventually. If it’s not, then Spike gets to watch everypony he cares about age & die, including Twilight. Either way, Spike will outlive Rarity, probably by over a century.
Equestria would be cotton candy cloud and chocolate milk land, hell, the entire universe! probably would be that if not for him.
Twilight would’ve long since ended up dead in a ditch somewhere if it wasn’t for Spike.
…
Suffering is funny!
