How about the phases of the moon?

For some reason, this makes me think of the Digimon evolutionary stages. Specifically, these would bee her at Rookie through Ultimate: Selenamon, Lunamon, and Nightmare Lunamon. Princess Selena was a preliminary name for Luna that wound up getting used in some early merchandise.
