Jobe: YOUR NAIVE IGNORANCE MAKES ME VERY ANGRY!

Is that still a thing in YouTube reviews, editing clips where it’s like characters from the movie are reacting to the reviewer’s comments?

Button Mash: “The Lawnmower Man”, for the Sega Genesis. Well, the movie was all about how you push the limits of virtual reality, and it has awesome special effects that hold up better than the CGI of today, so I figure it would make for a kickass game! So you walk around in what I assume of Dr. Angelo’s cyber world, taking control of Jobe, and right now I can see that the palm trees look like pixelated messes. I guess they are trying to recreate the look of the movie…except the cyber world in the movie was mind-blowing, this is shit that they scrapped from under the sink! So, you walk around doing NOTHING, until they eventually give you a gun…ecept there’s nothing to shoot at. What am I supposed to be shoting at? The trees? The brick walls? And how come I can run straight into a brick wall and pass right through? Eventually, something resembling an enemy shows up, it dies with three hits, and the process repeats over…and over…and over again. This came out like, in the 90s, right? We already had “Doom” and “Wolfenstein” by now, there’s no excuse for this piss-poor putrid cash in! This game sucks!

The studio gave Brett Leonard and Gimel Everett the job of adapting “The Lawnmower Man” into a feature-length film. They didn’t think that was possible, so they wrote a loose reenactment of the story into “Cyber God,” a script they’d been trying to get filmed. And that’s how an unrelated film project became “The Lawnmower Man.”

I mean it wasn’t based on the story pretty much at all. They would have been better off just calling it something else and treating it as a completely new thing. Which it was.
