Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!
The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Yorec
It’s technically possible, but it’s really really unlikely, though having multiple partners in the same night increases the chances, especially when they’re within an hour of each-other. Fraternal twins are technically from two different sperm and eggs, it’d just require a wash of two peoples’ sperm in quick enough succession (as well as there being two separate egg cells ready to be fertilized, which is rare enough on its own) for it to occur. Iirc the chances are roughly one in thirty-thousand of it happening even under the best conditions.

The weird thing is Pumpkin has the same colouring as her dad and Pound Cake has the same colouring and race as Featherweight a lanky pony with an overbite

Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!

It’s a great punchline, but there’s been mind numbingly long debates how his logic about why the twins are different variants of ponykind and why he sounded unsure as to how his logic makes sense. As for why their manes and coats are different, look at ANY of the characters and see how far from their parents they look. Twilight has subtle differences while Pinkie Pie is completely different.

True, personally, I believe their genetics in some way follow like that of human beings. That being, pinkie probably gets her looks somewhat from grandparents or an aunt or someone else in her extended family, as like in humans, certain traits in a family can show up in some members but not others, and can skip a generation, like how a kid can have blue eyes yet have two brown-eyed parents, because the paternal grandfather has blue eyes. As for how the colors of a ponys coat will appear on their offspring, I dunno if there is any possible markers for how thwellexact coat colors and patterns.

I have noticed how Twilight Sparkle has purple in her main coat color, yet her mother has it as her secondary coat color. Either purple as a secondary coat color is not explicitly marked out as a genetic trait (meaning only the color itself is genetic, and not how it is arranged on said offspring), or else, Twilight Sparkle’s lavender coat comes from another family member, like a grandmother who has a lavender coat, while simply inherenting her mother’s hair stripe and unicorn features, with the pink coming from another family member as well.

It’s said in the show that in the cakes case, they have unicorn and pegasi family members, and that was passed down genetically. That probably explains Pound cakes colors as well. Pumpkin gets hers obviously from Mr Cake.

They really should have some mixed race families in the show, to kinda illustrate that, unless you technically count shining armor and princess Cadence, you don’t really see ponies of different races together as a couple in the show, well at least I haven’t, even though it’s implied that it is commonplace.

Why do i keep doing this to myself? I know that ANYTHING by Jay Naylor is going to get nothing but grief in the comments section, yet I can’t stop myself from reading them. I guess I was just holding out hope that the community the preaches love and tolerance would be able to actually at least tolerate him… Silly me. _

Yes, Jay, we get it. You have a fetish for women who cheat on their husbands. WE GET IT. YOU LITERALLY COULD NOT MAKE IT MORE OBVIOUS. YOU PUT IT IN LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU WRITE.

A women can get pregnant from two differnt men due to having two eggs released. One succeeds in fertilizing one egg, not the other; the other man has the opposite success. It’s called Dizygotic twins.

Okay I honestly thought the joke was about that those two guys at the end were gay and couldn’t figure out how to get babies until Carrot Cake said magic.

I didn’t know it was about that joke

A lot of people thought about mrs. Cake cheating on his husband when mr. Cake made that silly explanation about their foals. That wasn’t the point.

The problem was that there were a lot of Jay Naylor’s haters on Ponibooru.

How can you enjoy the most from Jay Naylor? Just stick to his art and ignore the rest.

It's a cartoon show!
@ Yorec yes it is possible the medical term for this is “Superfecundation”

Superfecundation is the fertilization of two or more ova from the same cycle by sperm from separate acts of sexual intercourse. The term superfecundation is derived from fecund, meaning the ability to produce offspring.

@ Yorec: I’m aware of that. My point is, this wasn’t the first comic making this joke, it definitely wasn’t the first time the joke was made (I remember it coming up before the episode was even over) nor was it even the last bit of art making the joke.

But when this went up on PB, just like it has again here, people basically exploded at it. And it doesn’t make any sense to me when most of the other stuff just gets ignored. Is it all because Jay Naylor drew it, or… what?

@Vree: Oops, that didn’t make sense.

No, I really want someone to knock some sense into this guy, and I can’t get why people think that the joke here is an actual thing in the MLP show. It’s asinine.

@Tenchi

I believe its because not a lot of people are into the whole infidelity thing. I’m certainly not, but also this comic is just stupid on a biological level too. Its not possible for a woman to have twins from two different men. That’s not how pregnancy works.

I want to smack the artist for using an obvious joke, but also for being an all around douche nozzle.

I can’t believe people actually think this.
