The CGI Starship Troopers flick (assuming there’s only one) is basically what would happen if you put Dead Space, Metroid, and the original Starship Troopers movie together and sucked out all the awesome so they would fit into a 90-minute presentation.
And I have yet to see Invasion, the CGI one put out last year, but Hero of the Federation has none of the charm of the first, even ripping off other sci-fi movies, and then Marauder just out right sucks.
If you where to see them, you wouldn’t call the first one terrible.
I don’t have the guts to watch the sequels.

The first one was bad is a good way, the sequels where just bad.

Still a terrible film, though.
It was. He called the book’s politics “fascist utopia” and portrayed his idea of what that would mean.
In that sense, maybe.
But I don’t think it was Verhoeven’s intention.
Only if you make the mistake of taking it seriously. The tone is obviously satirical.
Starship Troopers was a terrible movie from the book!
