Description

There have been a few stereographic 3D images uploaded recently (mostly NSFW) but many people are unable to view them properly. I made this guide to explain the technique I use to view them, since I find it very effective.

The Fluffiest
Honestly cross-eye 3D generally sucks because due to the mechanics involved, everything’s limited to about a quarter of the size of the largest resolution that can fit on the viewer’s screen. (Since you’re basically tricking your brain into looking at a fake object half the size floating in the air between where it actually is and your eyes, and you need to fit the image on the screen twice.)

Or, some of us just learned to cross our eyes from staring at our nose tips! :D

@G.S.
its easier for some than it is for others, as with any skill, it takes practice, I can do it easily but at first It was difficult.

I prefer my method. Put your hands halfway over your eyes, closing them to position them so your right eye can’t see the left and the left can’t see the right. Then just focus on the image.

Its even easier if you have glasses and can just put something over them like a post-it, to free up your hands for obvious reasons.

Been staring for ages and eventually got it to stop being a blurry mess only by leaning far back and putting my long-distance glasses on. I then resizzed the image to it’s smaller version and it became super easy and unblurry. Shame though that this method shrinks the image again ontop of however small it might already be.

@TomCatFort
have you SEEN Red/Cyan stuff?! it sucks all the colour out, you’re left with a saturated mess. Crossing your eyes for hours is better than watching anything in gross red/cyan.
Draco_2k

Easier method: cross your eyes until two pictures turn into three, then focus on the middle one.

Don’t view an image that’s too big or too close, or it’ll hurt. Start with something small on an even-coloured background.

Note: if you’re struggling with this, it’s because the example provided is terrible. 2D pictures edited to look 3D will never work.

These have never worked very well for me, but I have a slight astigmatism in my left eye. I’m fine with 3D movies and the Nintendo 3DS, but anything that requires refocussing/gaze convergence rarely works (and if I can get it working, it’s only for a second or two at best).
