I had a couple of people ask me why my computer doesn’t look like any OS they’ve seen in my speed paint videos. Well, I’m big into customization and after I had my system crash on me, I decided to totally deck it out when I had to reinstall the OS.

Here’s a little trick I learned years ago: Windows 7 really likes to save your desktop wallpapers as JPEGs and compresses them horribly (as you can see). The workaround is to save it to JPEG yourself and compress them only like 1%, then Windows leaves them alone and you see no compression artifacts.
