No. The scene from which the fanbase latched onto the muffin thing was from the 3rd episode, but the muffin “thing” (wherein the fans associated Derpy with muffins) came solely from the fans at a later date.
 
In any event, her muffin obsession has become Derpy’s ONLY significant personality, and is thus very lame. I would go so far as to say that she has become flanderdised because of it.

Seriously, look at Derpy before and after the fanbase (and actual writers) latched onto “muffins” as being Derpy’s “thing”. NOW the only trait she has is muffin. Her personality? Muffin. Her hobby? Muffin. It’s lame.
 
Look at her pre-muffin. She was an airheaded mail delivery pony. She was very loving and caring to her friends and family. She was energetic and messed up a lot, but she was adorable and forgivable. All of that seems to have gone completely away now that she is ONLY the Muffin-pony. Lame-lame, super-lame.

Maybe you don’t like muffins as much as you think?

Because you suck at baking.

Because Derpy would you eat whole if it was.

Because God hates you.
