But Malal is suuuuuuch a lesser god D:

That’s what he wants you to think.
At such times as a warrior’s heart turns to Malal, all Gods of Chaos grow fearful, and the laughter of the Outcast God fills the tomb of space…
Also by nature any of the chaos factions will fight with the other chaos factions, or work together… it’s such a volatile and fun network of hate!

Yeah, but they do it just to prove they’re the better gods. Mally is flatout trying to kill them. ‘Course he can’t succeed, since for one he grows stronger and weaker as they do, but it’s the thought that counts.
I’ll admit that mostly though, I find his traitor legion, the Sons of Malice, to be cool. They’re up there with the Black Templars and the Angry Marines in terms of viciousness and brutality but they’re fairly disciplined and have the unnerving habit of fighting in total silence. They’re also half-crazed cannibals but then nobody’s perfect.

I’ve heard of the Ciaphus Cain books. I’ll have a looksee but I doubt they sell them around here. Likely have to look for them online.

@Oh the humanity

You and about a million other people.
Seriousely, go read the books. Then read them again, not because you missed something important or deep but so you can just enjoy the constant failing upwards a second time.

Dawn of War is a good introduction to the worldsetting though. I play table top and the pen and paper role play games myself (as well as read a few of the books).

I honestly suggest you go find yourself some of the Ciaphus Cain; Hero of the Imperium books. They’re amazing reads, good at fleshing out the world in a way that’s really palletable to the reader.
Imagine Captain Jack Sparrow in the 40k Universe as an Imperial Guard Commissar

@Kryptchild
Well, papa Nurgle is the only one of them that could be considered ‘nice’. Admittedly, what I know of 40k comes only from the Dawn of War games and what fluff I read online but if I had to choose, I’d go with Malal/Malice. ‘Least then you’d still get to fight Chaos.
