As so many people have pointed out in response to this sort of thing, it’s called “My Little Pony” for a reason!

Or the bunnies are different ages and so don’t have to be the same size, especially between different worlds.

Weight is a measurement of force, though, specifically the force of gravity, not mass, that being the entire point of distinguishing the two, so you do in fact weigh 1/6th of what you do on earth.

No no no, because Newtons is the measurement of force, not mass. And your weight is the mass of your body. And Force is determent by mass times acceleration. F=m*a, 1N = 1Kg * m/s². On earth this means it takes 9.81N to lift 1kg of mass, because earths Gravity is roughly 9.81m/s².

And you know the say you only weight 1/6 on the moon? This is technically wrong, since your mass doesn’t change.

I’ve always thought the use of mass units was a weird way to measure things that are defined in imperial by ounces and pounds. Does anyone know how many “slugs” they are? Of course not. You’d think weight would be measured in newtons rather than kilograms.

as a Canadian, living in a country that has supposedly converted to the metric system, I can verify that full conversion was only half successful, at least in Ontario. Units of distance are typically metric, but I’ve never heard someone say something like “But that place is like a million kilometers away!” Also, we never seem to actually record personal units, like weight or height, in metric. Nope, we’re all X feet tall and Xlb.

Temperature seems to be divided, which is kind of annoying. I prefer metric for temperature, because it actually makes fucking sense, but a lot of people still use those damn ^F just to confuse me.

When it comes to food weight, nobody can decide weather to use metric or imperial, which is a bitch when shopping. “Oh look, this flier says 50% off for One pound of ground beef! How many pounds is 800g again?”

I really wish we could just stick to either metric or imperial. Or, rather, just metric, because imperial is dumb.

Well it still could be good for the economy. Just think about all the scales, measurement tools and instruments that would have to be changed. Still it would be possible, if it was changed over time and gradually. I remember when the EU changed their money to Euro and how every price was listed two times for over a year, just that people get used to it. And how we could pay for months with the old money but receive new money as exchange. ect. pp.
And we have the new money now since over a decade and there are still people who calculate back to the old money, and say how expansive that would be. Especially people over 60 are like that. Guess the same people complain about daylight saving time 2 times a year since decades. ^^

Pretty much this. Hell, the US tried to convert to metric back in 1980 but it didn’t stick. Reverting people’s minds to a different measurement system is very tough. Not to mention all the signs, programs, and maps that people will have to change… it would cost billions.

There are plenty of readily accessible methods of conversion, sure, but that’s why I specified that I can’t easily think in those terms. Spacial reasoning is sort of like language. Whichever one you grew up with ends up defining how your head is wired, to some degree.

The humans in EqG have bizarre proportions with long, spindly legs and huge heads. Their waists are much higher than where an equivalent IRL person’s waist would be.

Going by the locker doors being about 6’0”, EQG Fluttershy is 172.7cm, or thereabouts. All the girls in EqG are about 5’8” or 5’9” and the guys are well over 6’0” to 6’5”. Like CLAMP characters.

Therefore, the average height of a pony is about 103ish centimeters, or waist-height on an average person.

That’s assuming that’s in “feet” Ponies probably don’t know what feet are.

It also perfectly matches various EqG materials, like one of the early posters that showed Twilight looking at herself through the mirror.

I assume the girls in EG are about 5’6’’ or so. If so, I like this height, considering this is pretty close to being an official comparison.
