It’s also kind of hypocritical that it is propagated by this fandom that apparently demands the “newest of the new” humor and is appalled by memes.
it’s been known as a part of the “turbo-nerd” stereotype for a couple years now
I first saw it on something relating to world of warcraft nuts long before bronies were ever a thing
it also doesn’t help that there is a somewhat appalling amount of pictures of dudes wearing them with pony shirts at meetups
but still, it doesn’t mean that the stereotype should be shoved everywhere possible
i’ve yet to meet a brony that actually meets the stereotype, but then again I do live out on the US west coast where people like that are just as or even more rare than, say, die hard republicans
Bronies tend to be stereotyped as fedora wearers.
