We have a separate backup with all the images posted on the site, and we have a list of all the corrupted images; metadata like comments, faves, etc. weren’t affected by the corruption, so we just need to replace the dead image with the not-dead image.
Oh, alright.
I know the desynced images will only take reindexing. But the corrupted images….
The comments are still there, just not on the comment list. I back-tracked to find a few of my comments that don’t appear in the “my comments list”
There’s still images and comments missing from before the site crashed for four days. I had about two weeks of comments/images disappear.
Prepare for the massive influx of images, brace for another crash.
As I said, all missing images will be recovered. If you could survive a day without the entire site, you can survive another day without a few thousand random images.

It’s probably for the best that image uploads are down. The flood would probably crash the site again.

Basically, we have images missing from the data corruption, and images hidden from the DB desync of a few days earlier. The first problem we’ll fix by plugging in the images using another backup. The second problem requires a reindex. Neither of these can be done any time soon due to real life circumstances (ie. work), so don’t expect everything to be “back” until tomorrow.
As well, due to the way we had to re-set up the site, there’re a few nasty bugs, most notably the inability to upload any new images. That should be fixed today, but probably not for several hours.
