It’s more like she pays attention to how she looks, and works hard to look like she does. Applejack can just look great without trying, kind of like how some people just look better without makeup.

I was thinking more of a direct permanent change, though. One which might use an initial dosage of chemicals to alter brain configuration.

Are you sure you can even consider yourself yourself? Is it something that can’t be changed? Over time you have changed through experiencing the world around you. Why not skip the time consuming processes of living and make the same beneficial changes instantly? Perhaps by the act of making the decision to make these changes, yourself will truly be under your control. Impulses, wants and behaviors could be broken or created to the individual’s whim.
