To be fair she didn´t knew she was casting it by simply spelling it out, what it does nor did she expect her mentor to send her such a dangerous spell.

I just can’t help but think, based on the last panel and where Discord’s eyes are looking, that he is, in fact, applauding dat plot.

Yes. She does. Unfortunately, extremism never actually works, it just makes the problem worse. It’s a big part of the reason I don’t think she was meant to be a Princess.

Actually discord needed an entire episode to mindrape her friends… he could have done that in 2 seconds but decided to do it slowly.
 
Twilight on the other hand mindraped her friends by accident after reading an incomplete spell.
