I think that starscream could, would, and SHOULD have given her a MUCH better run for her money
Is this a good idea?
Umm…..Rainbow Dash isn’t mechanical.
Superman is a super dick, don’t forget. The spirit bomb might affect him.
There’s also the fact that the Spirit Bomb can’t be used by and only works against those with evil in their hearts (like Vegeta at the time, Frieza, and such). Anyone else, it deflects off of, so the Spirit Bomb wouldn’t work on Superman anyway (at least directly).
I can accept Superman winning as the numbers don’t lie (at least what could be gathered), but when it comes down to it, Goku is still more interesting and entertaining to watch for me because of the fact that he’s constantly breaking limits, facing more and more powerful foes, and actually LOSES at times, even after using his full strength.
Theres also the fanboys trying to justify the recently released DB movie with SSGod… who is basically SS3 Goku plus 5 of his friends and if were being generous say its ss3(times 6) which actually will equal close to ss4 (times 2) That margin between 320000 Tons and 200 Quintillion tons is still basically a toddler taking a punch from Iron Mike in his prime on steroids while hes pissed wearing brass knuckles… and the baby has the colic etc.
I think the Kryptonite thing was just a quick way to demonstrate the “Even if Goku found Kryptonite, he wouldn’t use it, seeing it as an unfair advantage.” thing. But yeah, the whole “it must end with one killing the other” thing does fuck around with their personalities.
I love both characters, myself, and personally I like to imagine that after the fight cuts out to Superman alone in the debris of the planet, he’s telepathically contacted by Goku from the spirit world, congradulating him on such an amazing fight and letting him know that the Namekians are gathering up their Dragonballs to restore the earth.
You just touched one subject of the video I had problems with: the characterization. I understand that the nature of Death Battle, to measure which character would be the victor should they fight to the death, and the aftermath was convincing to me.
The problem was that the extremes they went to made both characters seem really out of character. Goku only uses the Spirit Bomb against an evil foe who absolutely needs to be stopped, and would never use it in a competition, as he was portrayed as seeing the match. And Superman, although capable of, sure as hell wouldn’t destroy the world just to defeat an enemy.
And I know the point of the video was to measure strength, not characterization, but when you make a scene like the one with the kryptonite, which only served to illustrate Goku’s sportsmanship, it’s kind of hard to see where your focus is.
In all honesty I think the real Goku vs. Superman would end with huge bill at a restaurant.
Pfft, that’s nothing. Look at the aftermath of Goku vs. Superman. There’s an entire subclass of videos about people bitching about how ScrewAttack screwed Goku.
I love Goku and all, but the numbers don’t lie. Superman, even when they try to depower him, ends up getting into ‘OP-as-fuck’ territory.
