Did it ever occur to you that maybe the Elements have a homing ability, and they don’t bother to dodge because they’ll still get hit no matter what?

There should be a what if arc of that like those LotR games did.

First: It does look like most teenagers would become adult ponies after crossing the portal, so she would already have almost-guard tier soldiers at her command.
 
Second: She does not just mind-control humans, she can also turn them into demons, they would be provably stronger than pony guards.
 
Imagine if someone decides to draw them in a Equestria Divided style (grimdark as fawk), what would we have?
 
An army of mind-controlled flying demons, mind-controlled pony civilians as meat barriers and some über-mutated demons like living magical bombs or deformed demons turned into magical cannons.
 
The most important thing is that if Sunset would be able to fight against Celestia, Luna or even Discord.
