Oh, no, it being bad is not objective fact. However, it is objective fact there are more plot-holes than characters, that many characters were seriously underdeveloped, and that the love interest plot-line is both barely there and extremely conspicuous. If these things make it bad or not to you is a personal thing.

I’ve seen people claim Equestria Girls is objectively good in everyway, and anyone who didn’t like it is not a True Brony (tm), and is a hater who is just looking for things to hate.

Well if that’s true I certainly haven’t seen it. But I have seen people saying Equestria Girls being bad is objective fact, which by extension is saying anyone who does like it has horrible taste.

I’ve never seen the anti side use that example, but I’ll take your word for it that it’s happened occasionally. (Which is odd, since the pro side is usually characterized as saying the anti side aren’t true bronies.)
 
On the other hand, I consistently and repeatedly see the anti side label any and all fans of EqG as morons, buttkissers, and Hasdrones, sometimes with the further implication that they’re helping undermine FiM by liking EqG.

Really I didn’t EG worth all the implication of creating the human world portal just for a story who is at best average except when it come to pony references or some humorous scenes so I can’t say I’m happy with it despite being ready to live with it to stay with FiM.
 
But really I seen far more hostility from the pro side. Never I seen the anti trow your the stereotypical fat neckbearded brony who ashame the fandom to the pro but I saw the pro did it a few times.

Dunno. It’s just, that we could have nice things, if people wouldn’t pester the staff.  
It wouldn’t be a problem if we could keep discussions as to whether it was good or bad amongst ourselves as bronies, but some seem to feel the need to convince staffers to “resist Hasbro’s influence” or “stop pandering” etc which is I) usually an unreasonable demand and II) none of their business

Not that I’m disagreeing with any of what you’ve said (except I think EqG will be about as realistic as a Disney kid-com, at least), but that’s just not where I wanted to take my argument.

Personally, I think EQG was pretty good if you remember that it’s a spinoff and shouldn’t be thought of as part of the main series.

While it is true that some pro-siders say crap like that, most of the people I’ve seen who like EQG do so almost apologetically. Whereas the majority who hate EQG believe anyone who likes it is lying (to themselves or others) or a “Hasdrone” or whatever.
 
I’ve not seen the movie myself, so I can’t pass judgement on it. I may like it, I may not, or I may just find it kinda “meh”. I don’t know.
 
What I can say is that I’ve been through high school and have no doubt in my mind EQG is probably so unrealistic about it it’d make Disney kid-coms look like documentaries.
 
Of course, any truthful look at high school would either be too boring to show or so overly depressing everyone in the audience would have killed themselves by the end.

Yeah, the pro side will start by posting something like “You’re not a true brony if you don’t give EqG a chance!”, then the con side will chime in with “If you like it, you’re an idiot and a Hasdrone that’s helping ruin the show!” Meanwhile most of the sane people who accept that others can have differing opinions over entertainment tend to stay out, knowing that nothing they say will change anyone’s mind.

And that’s the problem: the personal attacks. Not opinions one way or the other, but personal hostility whenever the subject is comes up. In the few big threads where the discussion isn’t derailed by personal attacks, I’ve found that even contentious topics don’t cause nearly as much drama.

But seeing them do so rather shamelessly and possibly yukking staff off of visiting this site (as there’s at least one _{(Sibsy, although that’s kinda common knowledge)} browsing with a Derpibooru account) just creates this Fremdscham and wish not to associate with them.

Perhaps. But we should stop constantly whining “Hasbro this, Hasbro that, curse you Hasbro!”, too in that case. Let’s not be like gamers who constantly slam EA/Activision for the (sometimes reasonable) measures in consequence of massive digital piracy back in the 200X years.
