My biggest problem is that i’m still not done with season 3 and i’ve filtered all the episodes so i wouldn’t be spoiled, then everytime i watch a new episode, i unfilter the episode tag and go back searching for the episode content to see if i missed some good and harmless pics, but it seems there is always some unexpected pointless drama waiting for me that ruins every joy the episode brought to me.
It just makes me want to go filter everything back again.
It’s a matter of perception. Arguments over this or that have always been the norm for this and every fandom. The biggest problem right now is widespread overt hostility between fans. That’s what makes things unpleasant. Take away that, and it’s not much different than the last two summers.
That’s why all i ever draw is art of them, i have an unnatural love for them.
That’s a new one. You’re probably the first (that atleast i heard of) who came here for the CMC. Fascinating to be honest.

As for the fandom? …Well, at least we’re not the Homestuck fandom.

I used to love the community, but in the past several months its gotten really difficult.
I mean, when the most reasonable discussion about the show is on Reddit, you know you have a problem.

FIMfiction “writers” aren’t skilled enough to pump out anything comparable to mainstream literature, which isn’t even that good. A story shouldn’t be judged kindly just `cos it’s fanfiction; I’m not willing to put up with lame story lines/characters/pacing, no matter if it was written by a professional or not.
And considering that I have ridiculously high standards for stories/books, it’s extremely unlikely I’ll ever find any fanfiction that entices me enough to keep reading, and pony fanfictions aren’t precisely known for their quality.
… Riiiiiight.
Also… really?! “Fanworks distort the meaning of the show”?! Are you kidding?
IT DEPENDS ON THE FANWORK.
First, parodies are made to distort meaning and poke fun, so that’s one way that argument doesn’t work.
Second, there are several hundreds of fanworks that stay true to the show’s philosophy and meaning.
Third, are you really that hard-assed about a show about technicoloured ponies? Do you really think that just because people write stories and draw pictures they deprive the original creation of its purpose?!
That must be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
