If your character build is focused on finding ways to reduce the spell level adjustment of metamagic feats, then you may actually want to take both “empower” and “maximize.”

It would appear that Twilight has not done her reading on the how to be a magical duelist, as demonstrated by her foolish waste of magical power.

The OC is lucky s/he is not facing P. Twilight, as I would imagine she possesses a nearly infinite amount of mystic reserves.
