I’m getting this feeling that OP dislikes Flash Sentry.

Wow… you can really smell the love and tolerance in this post.

I’m one of the very few people that would love to see romance in show only if its well made. But Flash is so forgettable and boring that it ruined big part of the movie for me. If you are going to do romance, do it right or don’t do it.

Once again, I’m saying that just her HAVEING a love life does not change it to something bad, it’s how it gets handled, I am sick of this stupid idea people have that it is bad without even thinking about it, just that it if she has a boyfriend then it’s wrong.  
That is the DUMBEST thing ever, yes the scales are completely different in how the relationships are but that done’t mean you can’t have both types of relationships at the same damn time, but no i keep seeing people give a reason that makes no sense, you said independent means exactly that, being alone, well guess what having friend or having a boyfriend both mean not alone, so by what you said she’s not independent ether way.

Are you really this stupid? I hate to resort to name-calling, but do you really not see the difference between a relationship of friends, where you are all equals but nobody… hmm. How to phrase this best.
 
In a normal monogamous relationship, it’s expected that both parties compromise and basically become dependent on one another so that the relationship can continue. A relationship of that sort is much more than the sum of its parts.
 
In a friendly relationship, it’s only slightly more than the sum of its parts due to the level of commitment.
 
Like, you wouldn’t abandon your hobbies for your friends, or you wouldn’t trust them with your absolute deepest darkest secrets. You would with a romantic partner.

If your going that far with he not being dependent on anyone then she’s already ruined by having a family, should we just erase her parent and brother, on and we can’t have her friends she’s dependent on them, she’s dependent on lot of other even on a small level.  
Sorry but this whole thing of just having a boyfriend changing everything to be bad is complete SHIT.  
If she has to be independent(alone) for FiM to work the the show’s message was destroyed from the start as just having friends means you are no longer alone, you have someone to depend on.

Independent means exactly that, being alone. As in, not being dependent on anyone and not having any dependents of your own.

*independent does mean alone.

None of that means you have to be alone, so you can be in a partnership.

No they are OLDER, it’s not teaching them to date at a young age.

That’s true but having a character that has a boyfriend and one that fanws over them are not the same, if that was the case then having married women in a show for little girl is worse, It’s teching them to be marred at such a young age.  
You argument does not hold up if it’s made a very small part that has little to no importance.

Yes but they shouldn’t be teaching little girls to date at such a young age. Too many girl’s shows are about fawning hopelessly over boys. FiM was one of the few left that instead taught girls to be strong and independent.

Don’t get me wrong he does appear several times in the movie, but only has one scene that is important to the plot. all of his other scenes last about 30sec to a minute.
