While that’s true and can do as actor allusion, I had the idea that since Discord is a chimera-like entity, his counterpart would be Chimera from Kamen Rider Wizard. I was gonna say that Discord would have probably not been human since dragons become dogs, but then I remembered he’s “half pony” so he might get some humanity through the mirror.
