Description
Found at Toys’R’Us. I’ve personally never seen them anywhere else, or before tonight. Same size as blind bags but most seem to be unique molds, and they are packaged on blister cards. It looks like only the Apples and Flam are available yet. The price tag on the shelf said something about “story set” so maybe that’s the link and they’ll release other “stories” later.

We need to start writin’ some letters to Hasbro.
I hadn’t even considered workers with hardhats, that would be awesome! I was just expecting maybe Wonderbolts with removable goggles.
On the other hand, with hats and such, it would be awesome to see a proper Trixie figure (especially if she comes with her wagon in the style of Flim and the SSCS6K)
I’d buy the hay-hole out of a Cloudsdale theme set too. Given Hasbro’s eternal flame for recolors and repaints, they could have a dozen or more exiting Pegasi molds with Best Young Flyer competitor numbers painted on, with playsets like an aerial arena with a royal skybox and several smaller sets of Weather Factory equipment, and carded Pegasi who have hardhats and factory coats as accessories.
Would be interesting to see what overarching stories they come up with for each wave. Since we’ve got the Apple Family here, and all the sets are related, I’m hoping for something like a Rarity themed one with Carousel Boutique, and a bunch of Canterlot themed figures. Or a Wonderbolts themed one with pegasi galore (A blindbag scale Bulk Biceps would be amazing).
Oh, absolutely– I snapped these bad boys up the moment I found them, and they’re all really great display toys. I’d be all over similarly themed sets for Carousel Boutique and Sugarcube Corner that were sized for blind bag toys and directly referenced specific episodes.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what the Friendship is Magic Collection produces in the future.
Whoever posed that shot and took the photo did so from a veeerrry specific camera angle. Here’s what it looks like in turnaround, with a blind bag, Happy Meal toy, and Funko full size for comparison.
No, I took the picture, and I can assure you, the barn is a rhombus only about as thick as a small book. The weird depth perception is accurate to the way the toy really is.
This actually isn’t the first barn made for AJ. There was one made way back when the show just started that must have had a limited release because it’s rather hard to find.
I know Carousal Boutique, Fluttershy’s tree cottage, the Ponyville schoolhouse, and Sugar Cube Corner got playsets of some sort made of them, but this time around Hasbro seems to be making them more accurate to the show.
Also the person took the photo with the box laying front upwards on the shelf, you can see an EQG doll box to the left. The box appears to have slanted backsides which is why it is giving off a weird depth perception thing.
Yeah kind of. It’s at a 3/4 angle, but it’s cut in half. The inside has some details, but they’re unpainted.
