Rough riders are amazing! Highly underestimated and thus can make a very effective surprise charge.

When I took them in to play, most of my opponents just laugh and tell me that it is “unique”. Then they discover that rough riders are a lot more useful than people think… Especially if the rough riders are using a unicorn.

I was inspired by this to make some custom models. I took some cadian infantry squads and used some conversion pieces from Victoria to make soldiers that look like cavalry units from the American civil war, wearing flak armor. I then glued them to a bunch of ponies I got from the mystery boxes. Now I have the equestrian rough riders.

Don’t know if you know about this, but I actually did rules to use the blind bag ponies in games of 40k.

No one’s actually given any feedback on these rules so I don’t know what people think of them. If I did get some feedback I might do some more special rules for other named characters. So far there’s only additional rules for the main 6 and Trixie.
 
At least I didn’t do what the other attempts at doing rules for the ponies did- making the ponies have, basically, Space Marine stats.
