Description
Dear Mister Box Cutter and Misses Thin Thread
It is with regret that I must confirm the recent telegram informing you of the death of your son Private Fine Stitch, who was killed in action on 8 September 1015.
I am told by those who knew your son personally that he was well liked. They would go to him to have tears and holes in their uniforms and blankets stitched, something I am told he did very well and completely free of charge. He will be sorely missed by his comrades.
The grief and sorrow this letter must bring upon you is unthinkable. I can only extend my sympathy towards both of you. It should bring some comfort to know that your son died painlessly, with his head held high. Until his last moment, he fought for country, Princess and home.
Sincerely, Capt. Page I. Turner.
