Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon don’t actually react to Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle. Their reactions to them is Apple Bloom rewriting their reactions to fit her perception of reality.

Scootaloo represents Applebloom’s suspicion that her family doesn’t truly accept her for some reason, hence why Scootaloo doesn’t actually have any known familial relations. Sweetie Belle represents the part of her that’s curious about the world she lives in and has almost unlimited enthusiasm.
Babs represents her self loathing, and is based on a cousin she had that died.
Twist is how Applebloom sees herself.

DT & SS harassed her so much, she made up a friend so that she wouldn’t be the only blank flank around. Then, when that imagination “split” and produced Sweetie and Scootaloo, she rationalized it by her old friend “going away”.
…But that’s too dark so it’s stupid. :p
What, are Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon also figments of her imagination, the mental personification of her psychoses regarding not having a Cutie Mark?
