I agree! I may might not be the biggest fan of G5, but it has introduced some interesting ideas. Finding the lost Alicorn civilization and its members is just begging for a followup!

It also wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened. To tie it in with the subject matter of my avatar (and the series of AI images I’be been generating and posting here) - in late 1987, Hasbro basically cut all ties with Sunbow, which had been producing all of their animated tie-in series, including GI Joe. However, a few years later, they formed a new partnership with DIC animation, who produced a new GI Joe series that picked up where the 1987 movie left off and more or less continued the story.

I imagine Hasbro might be currently giving the G5 animated media tie-ins a short break, and if the G5 line continues they’ll partner with a new studio to start a new series that picks up where things left off and try to further pursue and resolve all the plot lines started by Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark.

That’s what I’m hoping too. I know it’s copium, but still, they didn’t explicitly say the generation as a whole is done, just TYT.

I just want the story to continue.

Sigh, what could have been. Oh well, who knows, TYT might be ending, but maybe they’ll launch a continuation series with another studio in the future.
