anyways, these two are husband and wifey!Backstory
Gladmane grew up in the streets of Fillydelphia, a place famous for its section Dragon Town and a rotten all unicorn police force. This didn’t fare very well for a poor earth pony like himself that resided in the not so glorious northern parts of the city. Gladmane lived with his parents who did their best at all times, but it was never really enough. He grew up with sisters and brothers, all of which were either arrested or ran off, until finally the rest (including himself) were taken away. In the foster care system, he was bitter and mad, and knew that his poverty was the root of all his problems. If he just had money, if he had just been rich…When he was eventually cycled to Manehatten with some family of some pink and purple sweet horses, he met an orphan colt being fostered named Stinkin’. Not really a flattering name, so he decided to call him Zipper because he never talked. But eventually, he got him to by relaying his own grievances and experiences about being in the system, suffering and being thrown from family to family with no place to truly call home… especially because of the lack of money. It seemed that Zipper felt the same way, and the two of them made a deal to get rich and famous and help out others in need. Zipper did phenomenal in school, but Gladmane lagged behind quite a bit, but with the help of the other horses at home they were practically unstoppable. They went as far as too call each other true brothers. Not to mention this was the longest they’d stayed at a house since they were doing so good. Then the mother’s condition turned awful, and they had to go. Worse yet, they couldn’t go together. And so another bitter sprinkle of salt was poured into Gladmane’s festering wound of bitterness and hate. At this point he was a teenager, capable of getting his own home and job, and that’s what he did. He ran away frm his new home after robbing them and taking necessities… ended up getting a job sweeping floors at a shady hair salon in the back allies of Kings (our equivalent to the city Queens), and there he rubbed elbows with some of the more corrupt folk. A widespread Manehattan gang, capable of getting whatever they wanted… perhaps this way he could get his brother back. After some snooping around and moving from city to city, he eventually found his smarter half Zipper back in the orphanage waiting to be cycled again. It was hard to find willing and open houses in Manehattan, after all. So Gladmane being a good brother invited him to join the gang, where they could get rich and famous like they always wanted….and so Zipper joined. They did get rich. They did get infamous. Drugs began happening, prostitution began, it was no longer about the heroric robin hood story…. Gladmane wanted more money than ever, and didn’t plan on stopping. He no longer resented the rich because they didn’t share money with the poor, now he just wanted to become one of them and laugh. Zipper hated that, wanted to go to school wanted to chase his dreams of becoming a paleontolo-whatever. So Gladmane wanted him dead and out of the gang. He was no longe rhis brother, he was useless. Despite that vision they shared when they were young…it seemed they no longer saw eye to eye. However, Gladmane was the one who ended up hospitalized and doing time. He was wanted after all. But in jail he made more friends, more allies, a couple enemies… especially since his gang buddies didn’t bail him out for fear of being traced and caught themselves. But his gang buddies weren’t enough after he made more buddies in jail. He took all the gang money and fled to Las Pegasus where better things awaited him, leaving this cursed city behind after all the terrible things it had done to him. He had friends waiting for him in Las Pegasus anyway. “Friends” who he now knew how to use and betray to get his way, to get all the money he wanted. He was going to reign at the top. Now:
Gladmane, despite all that’s happened to him, is mellow in everything that doesn’t come to his work. He is actually quite charitable since he does hold that grudge against not being helped as a child, so he does often donate to good causes and hire poor ponies to work staff at his hotels, suites, and even homes. Of course during the interview he doesn’t tell them that at times they have to do his dirty work if they want to stay getting paid stacks, but it’s worked out in his favor. Loyalty in his poor workers is what he loves the most. Other, more privileged ponies with their talents and traveling shows that he hires on….mere pawns that he uses and exploits when needed. He does still run his new gang and underground businesses, ranging from drugs to pimping, but he doesn’t call it that. In fact, he believes its all just a part of being rich and famous. Who would ever pass up on it?Better yet, he’s met the love of his life. A tourist named Peachbottom who was coming through Las Pegasus. Now, he’s seen a lot of ladies and gotten a lot of tail, but he fell hooves over heels for this spunky lady who was asleep on the balcony of one of his suites and he thought she was dead or drugged. Turns out she just liked staring at the stars to go to sleep. He was hooked like a fish, and eventually got reeled right into marriage. He never knew how much he wanted to share his empire with a special lady, and he feels like it’s not even enough. But now he has kids to inherit it too, and thinks maybe it’s time he and the missus just run off into the sunset somewhere and enjoy life now that he’s got everything he’s wanted.PeachbottomBackstory
Peachbottom is a big lady from Mustangia, a small country town off the side of Vanhoover that embraces the fine parts of life. It’s a tightly knit community full of support and friendship at the fullest. While Peachbottom had the best time growing up there with her family, any time they went to visit Vanhoover and she saw all the tourists and big buildings…the fact that she felt like she saw something new every time she was there… she knew she wanted to travel the world when she grew up. She didn’t know what kind of job she’d have to get to support such a lifestyle, but dammit she was gonna do it. Raising chickens, rallying them, and communicating with them was her specialty, but it wasn’t enough to support such a frivolous lifestyle. She also wasn’t spectacular at school because of her hyperactivity and claustrophobia, so that didn’t help either. She had to be homeschooled because of it. Not to mention the hyperactivity and claustrophobia made it difficult to find a job at all, so…Then it hit her like a train. A tour guide! Duh! Also transferring to a far away college would help… if she studied lots of history of different towns and cities, it would be dumb for anyone to turn away such a knowledgeable guide such as herself! It was a perfect plan, and she put it right into action. It was so perfect, it all made sense–Until she gave birth at 16 to a baby boy who she named Big Britches. She practically saw her ideas shatter in front of her eyes at the concept of being a mother, having to settle down, take care of this colt and sacrifice all her dreams…. that’s what anyone else would’ve thought if they didn’t live in the sweet community she did. Plus, she loved the little boy to death and everyone she knew was on her side. She wasn’t sure who the father was, but she knew that there was no way she was giving up this baby, even if it meant she could never travel again. So she stayed put until she was 26 and her family was kind enough to look over him while she went to college far away. It didn’t stop her from visiting weekly, though, and at times taking him to her college dorm since he was so insistent on staying with her.She graduated from college with a phD in history and was set to travel the world as a teacher and/or tour guide. It was a bumpy road full of failed relationships that she tried to get into, ranging from love-at-first-sight crushes she couldn’t resist chasing and men she wanted to marry just because she thought they’d be a good fit for Britches, but now that she had made it out the other end alone…with everything she ever wanted so she could travel Equestria… she didn’t want to abandon Britches. But at this point, he was grown, and he kindly promised he didn’t need her so much. So now that she was assured, she happily went off and was free as a bird to do what she pleased. Now
A full fledged tour guide she is, and has been for years. Has lots of flings and fun, since she meets so many interesting ponies when visiting other places. She visits her son back at home a ton, and loves taking him on trips with her. Not to mention he loves joining, especially if it’s to meet her latest date. Even if the relationships never seem to last longer than a year, Britches has made it clear he doesn’t feel like he needs a father figure like she wants him to have. Despite this, he does like checking up on whoever she’s seeing since if a relationship were to last…well, they’d have to know her son, too.Unfortunately he was not with her when she was visiting Las Pegasus once more, a place she never tour guided for because there wasn’t much of a place to run free and stretch her legs, but a fun place nonetheless. This visit, however, would turn out to be one of her longest stays since Gladmane decided to give her a tour after finding her fast asleep on the balcony of her hotel room. (Ponies from the outside thought she was dead and made complaints, Gladmane thought someone had done one of his…jobs out in the open like an idiot.) It was the day of a lifetime, turned into a few more days, a few more nights…He took her to his own personal resort with his own field for her to run around in, took her to his house in sleepy town, showed her around Applewood… She loved every minute, as well as Gladmane’s charming personality. He was cunning, a bit underhanded, ect…But, she was a tour guide, a free mare, and had to go back to traveling to do her jobs. But… she did come visit his resort whenever he could. They became pen pals, sent each other gifts and all the cute things couples do, things she’s done before, yeah… but this was different. They both knew it, and eventually got hitched, tied the knot, put a ring on it and she’d never been happier in her whole life. Yeehaw!!! A couple more kids she loved in the bag, she still got to travel and come home to a fine man and a secure home-life… so good! Gladmane did explain his business, the shady parts and all, but she didn’t really get it and didn’t mind too much because he was helping poor ponies in the process.
