You know what would be even more interesting than Silver Spoon “becoming good”? What if, for an episode, she were forced to spend time alone with one of the CMC, and her true colors came out (“I only hang out with DT because [fill in the blank], and I hate it!”), but then, in the end she goes back to Tiara and little has changed, like an addict who can’t kick the habit.
Not much difference to me really, one could argue Babs was trying to be popular/liked, (by Tiara & Spoon) as well possibly.
Also, I don’t think they want to overdo the heel-face-turn trope to much in the show after Nightmare Moon/Luna, Trixie, Sunset Shimmer, and Discord. …(Or at least, he’s sort’ve become good.) Though, I suppose I wouldn’t mind both Tiara & Spoon possibly doing that at around the end of the series, or when they “grow up” someday. Some bullies do become nice people as adults.
In fact, surprisingly I heard Lauren Faust said she doesn’t like that “bad guy becoming good” trope much, (with how some people just can’t be reformed IRL) and she wrote the Nightmare Moon arc.
Well, with Babs, it was more a gambit to keep from getting bullied. With Silver Spoon, it’s more likely for the perks of being popular.
They already did that with Babs Seed.
I actually really like that headcanon. I like to imagine that all her teasing is mostly an act to stay on DT’s good side.
I think this might be more like, how fans have a fanon that Silver Spoon is only bad, because she’s friends with Diamond Tiara, and secretly wants to do a “heel-face-turn,” and be friends with the CMC. (Or become a “good guy/gal” in other words)
Sense Klungo became a good guy as shown here.
Though, aside from being the first to applaud Granny Smith in the “Family Appreciation Day” ep’, she’s usually been shown to be just as mean as Tiara. (She was just as relentless as Tiara with teasing Scoots about her wings in “Flight to the Finish,” so she doesn’t seem much nicer to me.)
Just not as much as I could deal with the fact that it was a Banjo-Kazooie game.
I miss Rare, and I miss her rhyming insults… :(
