Yeah, I’m not a fan of the design, either. For me, I think it’s a mix of the mouth and the eyes. I think at some point, I forgot it was Spike, and because of the eyes…I thought it was a female dragon. The black corners of his eyes just look a little too much like eyelashes.

I’m not sure what it is, but I appear to have an irrational hate for this Spike design.

Maybe it’s the addition of another claw or the “Sonic hair” spikes…
