“Four years ago, Queen Chrysalis murdered Princess Cadance. Twilight Sparkle in a fit of blind rage viscously beaten her within an inch of her life. Twilight then berated her brother, her friends and Princess Celestia for not listening to her. She even went so far to say that Celestia is unfit to rule. Leading to the citizens of Equestria to demand that both Celestia and Luna to step down on rulers and Twilight took the throne.
 
Now Queen, Twilight has begun as campaign to slay ever monster. Even slaughtering entire races and conquering the other kingdoms. Twilight’s friends, feeling guilty for abandoning her, join her in her crusade. On the other hoof, Shinning Armor, believing his sister must stop, has gathered a team of allies to end Twilight’s Regime.

I can see Regime!Twilight going mad after she accidentally kills her husband (Flash Sentry) and rips Discord limb to limb.

AJ-“The nuke! Where’d ya’ get it?!  
Discord-“What? You want one? Copy-pony…”  
BOOM  
Twilight bursts through the wall, her expression of pure rage  
Twilight-“Get away from him!”  
AJ-“Ah’m handlin’ this.”  
Twilight throws the table aside and grabs Discord, slamming him against the wall  
Twilight-“You drugged me! Made me-… Trixie… Nyx…”  
Discord-“First Ponyville, now Canterlot. Ponies you love tend to blow up, don’t they???”  
AJ-“Twilight!!! Don’t!!!”  
Twilight slams her hoof into the wall inches from Discord’s head  
Discord-“That’s why I like you, Twilight. You’re much more gullible than… hmph…”  
Discord gives a nod to AJ, implying her; Twilight tosses Discord against the wall  
Discord-“You think you can have a family… that locking me up will magically reform me… and they’ll be safe… So big, so dumb. Now, run along, so I can break out of here. I’ve got lots of planning to do to top this.”  
Twilight grabs Discord by the throat and lifts him off the ground  
AJ-“That’s enough!”  
Twilight tosses AJ back and turns back to Discord  
Discord–“I know it’s soon, but… think you’ll ever love again…? Maybe you won’t kill your next family…”  
Twilight rips Discord to pieces in a fit of rage as AJ watches, horrified; Discord lets out one final laugh before he is silenced forever
