It should be noted that Argyle said Sunny’s mom would always watch over her “from the stars.” Seems like they’re trying to strongly imply that she has passed away…

Even so, I personally like to believe that she is only presumed dead after going missing on her last adventure, which would leave open the possibility we might see her again some day.
