The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@King Sombra
It’s very difficult to draw a line though. In a very real sense, everyone thinks they’re right; if you believe something, you believe that it’s true. On top of that, context is a really sensitive factor. I know that I have said that a particular video game was the worst thing that has ever happened even though I don’t literally believe that; I believe that it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened in the context of video games. Other people, however, are less likely to be hyperbolic.

Okay maybe i was a bit too vague on the whole complaining stuff.
I have nothing against guys who give there 2 cents on awful Movies/TV Shows or whatever you like.
But what i can’t stand are people with a “sayers of truth” mentality (BTW sayers of truth is my definition of a guy who thinks that he is right and everyone is wrong).
So nothing against guys who do criticize in a normal way.

I suppose that it’s important to add that even though we cannot ‘force’ our opinion on others, we can listen others opinions about our own work, even when it’s negative.

Not really. Empty, meaningless praise is everywhere on the internet. There’s more hollow platitudes than mean-spirited troll criticisms. It only feels otherwise because people have a severe conformation bias. There are many terrible youtube videos where the overwhelming majority of comments are positive and the thumbs ups are really high, and the one comment criticizing the videos audio quality gets marked as spam. The internet is an echo chamber where people surround themselves with the things they want to believe.

The what in the where
how is this bad advice? compaining about things is what makes them change, and without change (be it good or bad), there’s no progress.

think about this: thanks to some people that on their time complained endlessly about certain things; there is no big black woman in your house making you lunch as you enforce your freedom of speech through the internet

  1. Sometimes, it’s fun to be scared. Sometimes, it’s fun to ‘hate’.
  2. Trying new things carries the risk of not liking the new thing.
  3. Only hearing praise creates a distorted worldview. By sharing negativity, people stay grounded in reality.
  4. ‘Hate’ is a really overused word. Hating something is a feel of such intense malice that many internet people haven’t truly felt before.
  5. It’s cartoon horse art. Even if everyone dislikes it, why get you feelings hurt? Why do people seek the approval of others so intensely?

But seriously. I sometimes ask myself why do people come on the Internet to hate things? Do they have social life problems and want to let it out on the things they hate in TV and Movies? Sorry but for me it’s just wasting the precious Life i have.
