As far as the danger to hooves goes, unless this uses a gas seal design like the Nagant revolver, she would not need to shoot herself in the hoof to cause injury, unless that is a very durable glove, as some of the gas escapes from between the front of the cylinder and the frame.

Assuming this works like a normal swing-out cylinder (artistic difficulties in repeatedly drawing complex mechanical devices allowing) the reason a revolver has a swing-out cylinder is to get it out of the way of the frame, which prevents the cartridges from falling out until you’ve swiveled it out and supports the cylinder while it is firing (even good steel can be bent out of shape when unsupported). Swiveling it out allows you to access all of the chambers at once, instead of turning the cylinder to each chamber, ejecting an empty case, and putting in a new round, like on many older revolvers.
(Not trying to be critical of anyone, just thought it might be interesting)
